About Us
The Haynie-Lee Project, Corp. was founded in 2020 in Chicago, IL by two Registered Nurses, Zabrina Haynie and Ariana Lee who sought to change the paradigm in representation of nurses of color with a unique style of mentorship.
Ariana Lee
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, I started my nursing career as a teenager. I was fortunate to be a graduate of Chicago Public Schools' Practical Nursing Program which allowed me to sit for the NCLEX-PN after the program was completed. I went on to obtain my BSN, MSN, and still have much to accomplish. My vision for The Haynie-Lee Project is to give young girls of color the opportunity to explore the nursing field as a career option as well as to prepare them to be comfortable in their skin while facing adversity.
Zabrina Haynie
As a Chicago native I was born and raised on the south side. Throughout the years I have always been surrounded by nurses. I knew from a young age I to wanted to become a nurse. After high school I entered the health care field as a certified nursing assistant and enrolled in the Associates in Science and Nursing program at Chicago City Colleges. I went on earn a BSN with plans to continue my nursing education. I am hopeful that The Haynie-Lee Project inspires young girls of color to pursue a career in nursing and encourages them to create ground breaking records in the nursing profession as women of color.
